About me
Passionate about student success, equity, and trauma-informed education, I am in my ninth year at Fusion Charter, where I serve as the School Counselor, Community School Coordinator, Foster Youth & Homeless Liaison, and a Trauma-Informed Practitioner. My work centers on creating a supportive, non-punitive school environment where students feel safe, heard, and empowered to thrive.
A key part of my role has been the implementation of a schoolwide Trauma-Informed Practices framework, ensuring that all students—especially those who have experienced adversity—receive the understanding and support they need. I played an integral role in developing Fusion's schoolwide Talking Circle program, fostering open communication, conflict resolution, and community building among students and staff. As a Talking Circle Presenter, I have shared insights on this transformative practice at conferences, helping other educators adopt restorative approaches in their own schools.
In addition to my direct work with students, I hold a School Counseling Supervision Certificate, allowing me to mentor and guide future professionals in the field. My experience in alternative education has reinforced my belief that relationships, trust, and emotional regulation are foundational to learning. Whether working one-on-one with students or leading systemic initiatives, my mission remains the same: to create educational spaces that promote resilience, connection, and academic achievement.
